- This interview with Benjamin Williams, a teacher at Capital City Public Charter School and an elected member of the DC State Board of Education representing Ward One, offers an exploration into the life of an educator deeply involved in the Black Lives Matter movement. Born on August 11, 1988, in Cleveland, Ohio, and having resided in Columbus, Ohio, Detroit, and Ann Arbor, Michigan, Ben brings diverse experiences to his work. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Ohio State University and a Master's in Educational Studies from The University of Michigan, his educational background informs his activism and pedagogy.
